Located in Fernwood Square across from the Belfry Theatre, Ça Va offers an evolving menu of cutting-edge, French-inspired cuisine, with dishes created using fresh, local produce. Ça Va offers brunch and dinner, a sommelier-chosen wine list, beer and wine on tap, a specially selected cocktail list and gourmet coffee. ‏The goal of Ça Va is to create a lively, friendly, contemporary bistro that is a good fit for the neighborhood, but also appeals to everyone in town who enjoys good food. Sophisticated and top-quality, but not stuffy. We'll feature local, seasonal ingredients in a creative menu of dishes, based in the French traditions, prepared with a modern twist that speaks to chef/owner Fauna’s time in Australia. The menu will be an ongoing work-in-progress, responding to the ‏ingredients that are available, and new ideas as they arise.


We are open for brunch Thursday to Sunday and for dinner Tuesday to Sunday.

We are open from 11:30am until 2pm Thursday-Friday
from 10am to 2pm Saturday-Sunday
and from 5pm to 9pm Tuesday to Sunday


We have free parking at the back after 5pm. You can also park on Gladstone Ave for up to 2 hours before 6pm (no time limit after 6pm).


Capacity: Our restaurant can sit a maximum of 30 people.

Menu: We are happy to work with you to find a perfect menu and menu style for your group, whether it is a 3-course, 5-course, family style or canapés. Please see our menu page for an insight into our style of food and please dont hesitate to call or email.

Cost: There is no room charge for events at Ça Va, however, we do set minimum spends. If your group does not meet the minimum before tax and gratuity a room charge will be added to make up the difference. The Fernwood community is one of those intimate parts of the city that most Victoria residents can say has touched their lives at some point or another. We grew up here. We played around the blackberry bushes here. We graduated from high school here. We rented our first basement suite apartment here. And now, in this place that has always felt like home, we are opening our first restaurant here.

‏I grew up just a block or two away from the restaurant, and have always wanted to open my own place right here at home," says Martin. A graduate of UVic, and the Camosun College culinary program, Martin started her career a dozen years ago working in some of Victoria's finest restaurants before moving to Australia, where she honed her craft in a variety of well-respected establishments, including Montrachet, considered one of the best restaurants in Queensland and Brown Sugar in Bondi Beach. Upon her return to Canada Fauna spent a short time at the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel and Resort before risking it all to open Ça Va bistro moderne.
